Hi guys!! I just stumbled upon your podcast a few weeks ago and was hesitant to listen in as most Buffy podcasts I have listened to are just not that great. But that quickly changed after I heard the first two episodes and I immediately got caught up on all the ones i had missed one day when I was working a double-shift at my job. You guys are now one of my top 5 Buffy/Whedonverse podcasts that I listen to! Keep up the awesome work! and I’ll definitely be waiting for more great episodes in the future.
PS: I LOVE all the dirty jokes/innuendos…they crack me up all the time!
as far as i know, ‘buffy’ replaced ‘savannah’, which was a mildly weird soap, but not all that bad. hope that helps.
Hi all. I haven’t even listed to this episode yet, but I was really pleased when I saw it arrive in iTunes and I thought it a good idea to drop a line to say so.
Please continue doing this show.
Hey! Another cast so soon! Loves it. It’s funny, I know a lot of people who’ve had trouble identifying Clea Duvall in things, and I never found that to be a problem. Most of the things she’s been in she’s had the same hair color and the same haircut, and almost never wears makeup. In fact, the only thing she ever changes is her hair color (in Carnivale). She even looks the same now in Heroes, only older and a little better maintained.
A few things she was in:
She’s All That
Buffy (obviously)
Heroes
Carnivale
CSI
The Grudge
Identity
Ghosts Of Mars
Popular
Girl, Interrupted
The Astronaut’s Wife
The Faculty
ER
Thanks for keeping me endlessly entertained. I don’t know if you guys have a promo, or if you shamelessly plug other podcasts… but my podcast is called
THE ESPRESSO PUMP: A HIGHLY CAFFEINATED PODCAST (check out my website link on the post)
If you have a promo, send me a link in my comments so I can advertise your show. I’m working on my first episode right now, I have a half episode and a promo up right now.
Thanx!
Hey guys, loved this episode. I had no idea that Marcy was the FBI lady on Heroes, but as soon as you said
that I was like “oh, yeah that is her.”
I have no idea what Buffy replaced, but 7th Heaven is the show that got picked up in the fall instead of them.
Keep up the great work!
The paragraph in the textbook at the end of ep.11 is from the Beatles’ White Album, “Happiness is a
Warm Gun”.
Next time I watch this I’ll be looking for a picture of a flower on any wall in S.H.S.
I just finished watching “21 Grams” 2 days ago. Yet another supporting role for Clea.
You guys did another great show. I think I enjoyed this episode a bit more than you did, but at least you still gave it fair coverage and didn’t just pan it. I always wonder what is to become of our invisible wonders in the future of the Buffyverse. The government has control of them and they are now at odds with the Slayer and her team in the Season 8 comics, so I wonder if they will come into play at some point. They would be nice and trained up by now.
Buffy was produced by Fox but never aired on Fox. They passed on it and the WB picked it up. I assume that Fox produced the show because they produced the movie. This happens in TV occasionally. For example Scrubs is produced by Touchstone which is affiliated with ABC but they passed on it and NBC picked it up. I assume Touchstone produces Scrubs because Bill Lawrence created it after he had Spin City on ABC. This is all from my ridiculous memory of (usually) useless things so it may not be entirely accurate.
I would agree with The Reverend. The movie was produced by Fox, and they basically own the rights to all things Buffy. Buffy first aired on The WB until her death at the end of season five, which is when UPN bought Buffy and started playing the show. Another little factoid involving the movie: The director of the movie, Fran Rubel Kuzui, has a producer credit on the television show even though she had no role in the making of the series because it was part of her contract that she would have a credit in all things Buffy.
Hey guys! Once again it was a great show. I was listening again to your Welcome to the hellmousth ppodcast. You asked the question what show did Buffy replace mid season. Well, I have the answer for ya if you haven’t gotten it yet. It was called Savannah. It was by Aaron Spelling and it had been on ayear before then. It was a show about three friends starring Jamie Luner and Robin Lively. It’s sad that I know this but me and my friends use to watch the show faithfully. I was sad it was cancelled, but even happier now because Buffy is my all time favorite show. I hope that this information is helpful. Once again keep up the good work!!!!
I just wanted to say that I stumbled upon your podcast and I am really enjoying it. Im a die hard Buffy/Angel fan and have gotten to meet Charisma Carpenter, Andy Howlett, and even Joss Whedon…. That kicked ass. Keep up the good work because I really like listening and usually cant wait to hear your next podcast
I really enjoy your podcast. I didn’t get into Buffy until after all seasons were on dvd and went through them all in a binge, so it’s a new (tortuous) experience for me to have to wait for the next episode of anything Whedon-related. Well, I’m waiting, so I hope you will keep producing these podcasts, because I think you all do a wonderful job.
Hey, I just wanted to let you know how much I’m loving your podcast. It was only last month that I finished all of the Buffy episodes for my FIRST time! Right now I’m in the middle of the Angel series, so I had to stop listening to your podcast after I heard everyone start to talk about the ending. Once I’m done I’ll be back!!! Keep up the fantastic work!!!!
Hi…Man i just love your blog, keep the cool posts comin..holy Tuesday
