Yeah, I saw Yvonne Strahovski on the Late Late Show and heard her accent. There is a great set of out takes on youtube for season one of Chuck. She makes me bust up laughing every time I watch 2:00 in to it. YouTube

You guys mentioned the actor on Torchwood who plays Jack – I was not aware he had a Gaelic accent – thanks for that! You were probably already aware of Hugh Laurie who plays Greg House – he’s British, and has a definite British accent but pulls off an American access without even trying. Another one you may or may not know about is Yvonne Strahovski who plays agent Sarah Walker on “Chuck” – she’s Australian, and pulls off the American accent VERY well. So well I had no idea she wasn’t American until weeks into the show when I read it online somewhere.

1st I’d like to say Im addicted to you guys and you guys make the lame episodes aweswome.Kutos.
2nd I made notes on things you guys said and talked about so…1) The Angel comic is kinda pissing me off me. 2) I might be the only one but I find what dru says oddly erotic. 3) Angel and his thinking that Dru was the worse I kinda agree in that his family was his 1st real bad thing and legend says just turned vamps kill there family 1st because its familar blood and as for Holtz family it was a way for him a Darla to tell Holtz not to mess with them oh and Angelus and Darla Killed Holtzs wife and Baby boy and turned his daughter. So yah Drusilla was his hobby so I think he took more joy out of it thats why he feels so guilty. 4) How is Willow so jittery with coffee when later she goes to the Expresso Pump alot. 5) Why are you so surprised with the clock when Joyce thought that Zombie Mask was so beutiful to hang. 6) Spike turning Ford was kinda in character in that he keeps his word…mostly lol. Lastly, Everyone on Buffy had cells in season 7 remember in First Date. Anyway I love your podcast and you guys.

oh and Kathleen use imdb next time before watching something. Although does it make me stupid to have watched the Greenriver Killer movie knowing James was Ted Bundy?

hey guys! Just listening to this epi and I was super surprised y’all didn’t mention that this is the epi where it is explained what happens when one becomes a vamp! I was looking forward to the discussion on it…

Also, I think Xander has some fantastic lines in this one..

A. Congratulations on such a great podcast! This is definitely one of the top Buffy podcasts I’ve ever heard…you guys (and gal) not only cover the shows in great detail, you somehow manage to point out something in every episode that I missed, despite having watched the show in its entirety 23,684 times. (OK, that’s an exaggeration, I’ve probably only seen the show in its entirety 8 times.) So yay you, and boo…me, for being kinda blind. (This week’s call out – not catching the inconsistency in Willow’s room compared to the rest of the set.)

B. Sad Fact: I can no longer listen to the podcast while driving. Kathleen’s comment re: her student and “Louis X.V.” had me in such a state of giggles I nearly forgot I was sitting in traffic with my foot on the brake. Oops. (“Next day, they did Roman Numerals!” Hee!)

Keep up the fabulous work. I can’t wait to hear your take on the phenomenal eps to come, specifically “Surprise”, “Passion” and “Becoming”….none of which I can watch without getting teary despite over 10 years of watching.

So, not only am I now addicted to your podcast, but they just recently put up The Dresden File on Hulu and now I’m addicted to that… and I cannot believe that with all the drivel that channel produces, that they cancelled the Dresden Files after one season. WTF? With the idiots who run television stations, I’m amazed Buffy lasted seven seasons. Glad, but amazed.
Anyway, rambling. Sorry.
Just wanted to say that I love your podcasts. Keep up the great work!

I’ve yet to find a better Buffy-versed podcast. Month-to-month, RARELY has anything CLOSE to the
entertainment/geekiness-factor found here happened yet. But the comic-book asides are a bit much.
I was a ‘graphic novel’ virgin until Fray (& Season 8). I can’t bring myself to read any other comics. I was raised to believe that they were anything BUT literature. I’m still learning how
to actually ‘read’ them. At least NOW, however, I understand more of the hero oriented movies.

It was interesting to hear what you had to say about this episode and the fact that Buffy seemed to begin a change to a more guarded and hard individual at this point. Similarly, on the Buffcast the hosts felt that ‘Lie to Me’ is when the series began a serious change from a light, monster-of-the-week affair to something a bit darker and grown up. I would also like to chime in with my thoughts on the subject, but I really didn’t notice, because, hey, Buffy wasn’t wearing a bra.

In the commentary on the DVDs they do say that the Jenny Calendar gypsy thang wasn’t planned. She was meant to be Giles’ gal, but she came in handy when they needed to break the story.

I vote for the Jenny Calendar being a gypsy sent to watch Angel being a late addition to the season. Otherwise, how do we explain that painfully awkward scene in “Surprise” where her uncle suddenly shows up and delivers that infodump of exposition? I think she was probably initially planned as a magic mentor for Willow and a love interest for Giles, and the other stuff came later as they were planning the closing arc of the season. And of course, since she and Giles were a happy couple there for a couple minutes, she had to die.

Kathleen, since I’ve heard you talk about the wardrobe choices something has been bugging me. If Buffy can’t be bothered to wear a bra to school, why does she ALWAYS wear one to bed? That’s not comfy.

Love the podcast- seriously my favorite out there.

Kathleen, I had the same experience with The Green River Killer Lifetime movie! Talk about pissed off. I’m glad I wasn’t the only one out there who suffered We seriously should win some sort of fan award for that one!
