It’s a two-fer this time on the Watchercast, as we discuss the two-part horror that is Kendra, the Vampire Slayer. She arrives in town at the same time as the Order of Taraka, sometimes human (sometimes bug) assassins that have been hired by Spike to keep the Slayer busy as he tries to find a cure for his creepy girlfriend, Drusilla. And, as with most things that take place on the Hellmouth, this cure requires a sacrifice…in this case, the sire of Drusilla, Angel. And Xander and Cordillia kiss. A lot.

YAY YOU GUYS ARE BACK!!! and I’m the 1st to comment you yay. Anywho I love that you guys are back audio a little staticy but whatever. I do agree with you guys Kendra kinda sucked no need to give the episode a one Mr.Pointy through Troy I mean I think this episode is a turning point and as good as an episode we fans got for a while (Bad Eggs and Ted) but agian whatever to each there own. Oh and Kathleen I hate Kenedy too sometime more then Buffy, I know what your thinking but I love the other character just not Buffy. Also Willow with the monkey didn’t happen in restless (she was on the couch with Xander “And try not to bleed on my couch I’ve just had it steam-cleaned”) it was in Season 2 Surprise( http://www.screencap-paradise.com/caps/thumbnails.php?album=26 ). Anyway love that your back and Jason I am so jealous of you and your lego collection.
YAY YOU GUYS ARE BACK!!! I think I squeed a little and pictured Numfar doing The Dance of Joy. Granted the audio was a little staticy but thats me being nit picky, sorry. I have to agree Kendra and the actress that played her sucked sadly I IMDb’d her and shes still getting work. Also Kenedy like Kathleen the actress I dont really think twice about I just can’t stand her I mean its like Riley and Dawn the only difference is I’ve warmed up to them. Wait its more like Buffy then sorry (I know someone who loves the show but not Buffy herself how strange, I love the others thought so…). Anyway one think I wanted to tell you guys to mistaken was the whole Willow with a monkey in Restless it wasn’t in Restless it was in Surprise in Buffy’s dream (http://www.screencap-paradise.com/caps/thumbnails.php?album=26). Lastly, Troy a one Mr. Pointy I mean hello Ted and Bad Eggs are the next 2 episode and those are far worse I mean I know Kendra was bad but come on(2 each their own I guess) and don’t beat yourself up for the name confusion it happens although it was funny also Jason I so want your legos.

I was so happy to see you guys are back, well hear you guys!!! I had a trip from the hospital I work for here in Sydney to my parents house and it takes roughly 50 minutes so I saved the podcast for the trip. Firstly can I say with all love and respect to you guys… lay off Kendra a little haha. She was cool as. I remember watching this show back when it was first on (I’m 24 now) and I was SO excited to see another Slayer. It spun the whole mythos out that there was another person out there like Buffy and it brought a WHOLE lot of scope to the show knowing there was another Slayer out there from another country training and waiting to come to Sunnydale while the other episodes of series two were going so if you can try and remember the inital wow factor. It, in my own opinion anyway gives the character something a bit more than bringing Mr Pointy. I know we have had things happen in the show happen in the past that broadens it but to have something running at the same time behind the scenes sort of… I thought it was tops at the time. I was on the phone to my mates that night ‘did you see the new Slayer?’ It was cool so for that reason she is always going to be one of my many favourites. Troy ripping off her lines made me laugh so hard in my car I think I nearly swurved to another lane!! All three of you together are hilarious and Kathleen and her comments are priceless on the wardrobe. And Jasons comments on Cordellia… enough said
Any way guys cheers for putting another podcast out because it takes me back to the good old days chatting with mates with all things buffy. Can I make one request? Maybe a special podcast (with heaps of spoiler warnings at the start) to catch those of us up from other countrys who cant get a hold on the comics???

Like everyone else, I say welcome back, the long delay had me worried about a podfade. I actually think these are very good episodes. There are a lot of nice little touches, like Jonathan and Oz’s appearances, and I also liked the diversity of the assassins, and what guy could object to Cordelia being hosed down? Cordelia and Xander’s first kiss was played just perfectly. Yes, Kendra was a useless character, but they bumped her off quickly enough and got it right with Faith. I wish they had done the same thing with Riley.

I remember listening to the commentaries for these episodes, and they insist that Kendra’s accent is accurate to some region in Jamaica, but I call shenanigans on that. It’s just bad. Bad, bad, bad.
Welcome Back Guys – we missed you! Thanks as ever for another great podcast. I really enjoyed these two episodes, but then again, I’m one of those weirdos who liked Kendra. I thought the actresses’s portrayal was wooden and emotionless intentionally just to re-emphasize how Buffy is a unique Slayer: she has friends, family, and a Watcher who loves her. Kendra would probably be seen by the Watcher’s Council as the “ideal” slayer, and yet she died pretty easily. (If anyone fit into Spike’s description of how in the end, all Slayer’s have a death wish, I think it was Kendra. She really didn’t fight Drucilla very hard IMHO.)
Plus, OZ! Yay Oz! And Xander with a hose! (That sounded far less pervy in my head.)
One note, the podcast came through with MONDO STATIC. Don’t know if you’re experimenting with new equipment or what, but thought you should know.

Hope you all had a Happy Halloween!
I was re-listening (is that a word?) to a podcast of yours that made coffee come spewing from my nose I was laughing so hard. Episode one season 2, “When she was bad”. When you said Buffy was trying to start a fire by rubbing her ass on Xander’s crotch! God..and Dry hummping like a dog in heat.Just way too funny! You guys are great! Anyway. I realized In Cibo Matto on the show was Sean Lennon and no one ever mentions that! He’s not hard to miss with blue lipstick on and a skirt! I was lucky enough to see them in concert back in the day. They were awesome! Too bad they broke up but the CD’S are still good to listen to.
