The High School that was used for Sunnydale High is Torrance High School. The courtyard seen throughout the series is actually the Senior Patio. Uber-Buffy fans will also note that there is no ‘bell tower’, the one where Johnathan was confronted by Buffy. The school is very popular with film makers as it has been used in all of the following:
- Beverly Hills 90210
- The Wild Life
- Not Another Teen Movie
- Bring It On
- Whatever It Takes
- Cursed
- Less Than Zero
The area around Torrance High did experience a real earthquake in 1933, a fact that made it’s way into the story of The Master.
The school charged around $7,000 a day for filming.

Hi, I found out about your show from the forums at doesmygeek.com.
I never watched Buffy at all when it was on TV, and then a friend of mine, just this past year, lent me the entire series on DVD (the red box) and I watched all of it, every episode, in about three months.
Anyway, I’ve watched only about the first six episodes of Angel, and haven’t watched any more since YouTube pulled all the episodes down.
Obviously, Buffy spoilers aren’t a problem for me, but I still kind of hold out the hope that I could watch the Angel series without any major spoilers hitting me first (I’ve already inadvertently come across one major one in Wikipedia, although I don’t know when in the series it happens).
So I’m at kind of a juncture here. Should I just forget about Angel spoilers, accept that I may never get to watch the whole series, or should I hold out for watching it unspoiled? I just made a pretty major computer upgrade purchase and can’t afford to buy the series, and the friend from whom I borrowed The Chosen Collection doesn’t own it yet.

I had to bring this up. Have to guys read the NO sign by the stairs it have Skateboards as one of the NO. So maybe Xander got in trouble with having his skateboard thats why he only really had iyt in this epi.lol

hey I just started listening to your podcast and in this one about welcome to the hellmouth you talk about wondering what show buffy replaced, and it actually replaced this kinda super stereotypical soap opera called Savannah. the awesome thing [if you like charmed] is that Constance Burge who created Savannah went on to make charmed as awesome as it was =D
