joined…hah! I had taken a bit of time off from the podscape, and missed out on the resurgence of the Watchercast…I’m so glad to have you back and on a regular schedule again! Hope to see some official T-Shirts before Marcon this year!
First, I just want to complement you on a very well done podcast. I look forward to each episode and enjoy listening to the 3 of you disect each episode.
As for your comments on Dr. Horrible’s Sing-a-long Blog and Joss Whedon’s appearance on This American Life, I just listened to it online and need to correct something you and the website said. The song that Joss performed was NOT from the commentary track for the DVD. It was a brand new song that he wrote just for This American Life. As for the commentary track, you guys HAVE to get the DVD for that track alone. It’s not a serious commentary track (Joss saves that for the normal, non-singing track) but is a spoof of commentaries. He brings together the cast (Nathan Fillion, Felicia Day and Neil Patrick Harris) and the writers and do an hour-long spoof complete with a song where Nathan says that he’s better than Neil in every way. My favorite from that track is “$10 solo” which is sung by a girl who had a bit part in the movie and got to sing a solo on the commentary because she paid Joss $10 (hence the title).
Keep up the great work and I look forward to future episodes.
In your words…..YEAH BUFFY!
I recently started a long commute to work and, like many others, I use podcasts as a way to pass the time. The Watchercast is easily my favorite podcast. I listen to it every Tuesday (just like when Buffy aired) and I am savoring each episode. I’m currently still in season one (I need to ration each episode) and just thoroughly enjoy listening to you be as obsessed as I have been. Also, I started watching Buffy when I was a junior in high school (on the show the Scoobies were sophomores) and one of the reasons I was so drawn to it was the teenage metaphor angle as well as the school being so unique and entertaining. The “when did you start watching?” comes up sometimes so I thought I’d throw that in.
I’m a subscriber to your show, which I thoroughly enjoy. I’m also planning to start a podcast of my own in early January. I’d like to put up a link on my web page to The Watchercast, and also swap promos. Contact me if that sounds like a good idea. My web page is still under construction now, hope you don’t mind. I don’t think it’ll ever look as good as yours, but it’ll be better later.
I’m midwestern watcher on Slay Alive, zhandele on the Buffy wiki.

Thanks, we’ll look into it. As I remember, something like this happened before, there was a WordPress security hole. Upgrading the site now.
